I live in Galashiels

Gala is 16 miles from Glentress. There are numerous hotels in Gala - maybe try Burts Hotel which has a nice restaurant. Nice to stay in is the Peebles Hydro hotel if you are not on a tight budget. It is in Peebles obviously which is a mile or two from Glentress. I have not been to Glentress but I believe it is most impressive.
