Freestyle SnowboardsFreestyle snowboards are wider, softer (in flex) and shorter than freeride and alpine boards. They are usually directional-twin or twin-tipped which makes landing and riding switch easier. The shorter board (usually between 130 and 160cms) allows for easier spins, tricks or grabs. Some manufacturers make freestyle snowboards especially for individual freestyle disciplines, e.g. pipe boards or jib boards, however most riders opt for a more general purpose board capable of adapting to a few different requirements. Freestyle snowboards due to their smaller size and soft flex are most responsive to the rider and provide good manoeuvreability in the park, though less so turning at speed or in powder. 291 reads
